“Working Better” report called for the right to request flexible working for all employees; a formal right to request a return to full time work; and to remove the 26 week eligibility criterion for making a request.
Note that the legislation did not in any way restrict employees on part time work from requesting a return to full time hours. But this was a widely held misconception, including by at least one Minister spoken to by this author, c2009/2010.
