Mothers in Management

Founded by the writer Shirley Conran, to improve working conditions for professional women and to advocate for flexible work.

Mothers in Management evolved into an annual conference (first held 1999, at The Savoy in London), National Work-life Balance Week, and the Work-life Balance Trust in 2001, to address the challenges faced by working parents.

Shirley Conran’s influential campaigning around flexible working was later recognised by her appointment as OBE in 2004.
